Remember to Treat Yourself This Christmas!

Christmas is here and the shops are staring to get crazy with everyone buying gifts for friends and family but I think at this time of year it's also important to think about yourself to and remember to treat yourself whether it be to a cute new Christmas sweater or even just to a cute drink while you're out shopping for everyone.

Shopping online is my preferred method of buying presents as I can search for exactly what I want and it saves me so much time, so whilst browsing Rosegal I made sure to pick myself up a little something to and got myself a cute new backpack and hoodie. The holidays can be such a stressful time for some so don't forget to take some time out for you and as an extra treat be sure to check below for a discount code for Rosegal and save yourself some money for Christmas treats.

When The Wendigo Met Hannibal - MCM Birmigham 2018 (Mads Mikkelsen)

MCM Birmigham 2018 - Mads Mikkelsen

Back in May when I visited the UK just a few days after my arrival I noticed that Mads Mikkelsen would be attending Comic Con and as a huge Fannibal I had to go meet him in person, he's such a great actor and Hannibal is one of my favourite series ever and I really enjoyed his recent appearances in the Marvel and Star wars Universe so this was an opportunity not to be missed. I'm writing this months later but my brain still can't process that I met him in person, it was all so quick but he was so charming and cool.

MCM Birmigham 2018 - Mads Mikkelsen

I had just a week to prepare for this con and nothing to wear, I knew that I wanted to dress "Hannibal Style" but had left most of my wardrobe back in Thailand, seriously I only had one pair of jeans and one skirt packed in my suitcase and a few jumpers I had left behind after my winter trip so I rushed out to H&M to check out the sale section and luckily found a few things I could use for a Wendigo outfit. I also rush ordered some black lenses which I ended up not being able to see properly out of but they really added to the look I was going for so I persisted. Luckily my antlers I made many years ago were still in tact and I found a Hannibal style tie I used as a belt to keep the jacket in place. Finally I added my rosary beads I got from my trip to Palermo (where Hannibal was filmed) to complete the look and although it wasn't perfect I was quite pleased at what I managed to put together and received some nice compliments from my fellow Fannibals.

MCM Birmigham 2018 - Mads Mikkelsen

MCM Birmigham 2018 - Mads Mikkelsen

Meeting Mads was just a complete blur, I was so nervous but it was very calm and so charming and signed my poster I got from Hannibal's first panel at San Diego Comic Con which he mentioned he was sad not to have been able to go to then afterwards I went to get a photo with him and completely forgot to take my flower crown out of my bag for him to wear, the picture is really embarrassing to you can see just how nervous I was but he of course looks dashing as ever!

MCM Birmigham 2018 - Mads Mikkelsen

After the blur of meeting Mads we decided to check out the rest of the con and it was surprisingly quiet compared to all the cons I've been to in the past and I ended up not buying anything which is really unusual for me but finally seeing Mads in person was just so amazing and brought back all my Fannibal feels, it was definitely one of the biggest highlights of my visit back to the UK and I'll never forget it.

Who would you love to meet from your favourite series?

Rosegal Review : Chic & Sporty Affordable Looks

Rosegal recently contacted me asking if I'd like to receive a few items for review and they have such a great selection of affordable fashion I thought why not try them out so I picked up a couple things which I thought would suit my current style and after a week they all arrived safely at my door.

Rosegal Galaxy Print Vest

Galaxy prints will forever be one of my favourite styles so I picked up this galaxy fringe print vest as I thought it would be a great piece to dress up or down and it's prefect for the humid Thai weather. It's so light and soft, I pretty much live in tank tops here, especially black ones so I've been wearing this piece a lot and the fringe give the top and interesting new detail, which my cat is a big fan of!

Rosegal Embriodered Pants

Since receiving these baggy embroidered pants (which were actually from the men's section) I've hardly had them off, they're just so comfy, I've literally been living in them! They're really great quality to and the embroidered detail is so pretty so I'm super pleased with them and the vest. Sometimes when you buy things at a lower price you have to compromise on quality but both these items were really great quality for their price and are items that I will be able to wear and wash for a long time, so if you're looking for a wardrobe update be sure to check Rosegal out.

Summer Shopping @ Zaful

Thailand OOTD

I recently decided to clear out my wardrobe so decided to check out Zaful to pick up some new items to wear on my trip up to Northern Thailand. Zaful have a great selection of fashionable women dresses but as my summer style has been drifting away from the usual top fashionable dresses I decided to pick up some cute tees instead.

Thailand OOTD

One of the things I love most about Zaful is just how diverse their selection is and as my style is gearing more towards the chic and sporty vibe there are some affordable sport items you can select for really great prices, which are so comfy not just for sports but for travelling to.

Thailand OOTD

Zaful is one of my favoerite online stores and their service is always quick and excellent and they're always quick to respond to any problems you may have. Zaful unconditional refund with quality, non-received, size Issue within 24 hours which is great service should you need to get your problem resolved quickly, so I totally recommend them and if you're looking to place an order soon check out the discount codes at the bottom of this post.

#OOTD: Pink Pool Style

Style Nanda Pink Pool Cafe - Hongdae - Seoul

There's just something about being in Seoul that brings out the fashionista in me. Seoul is such a trendy place with everyone dressed on point and everywhere being so damn aesthetic, I mean literally every cafe or store you walk in has some sort of unique theme or concept which brings in the Instagram crowd all trying to get those stylish selfies and honestly I just love how extra it all is. Style Nanda is one of my favourite stores in Korea but it's not the clothes or even the make-up that make it a must stop for me it's the stores themselves and how gosh darn beautifully they are.

Style Nanda Pink Pool Cafe - Hongdae - Seoul

Style Nanda has a few stores in Seoul and whilst I love the Pink Hotel/Pink Pool Cafe in Myeongdong this store in Hongdae has to be my new favourite because they've gone even more extra and built an actual pool in there! Luckily we happened to be there on a quiet day because I heard it gets really crowded so we had the whole pool section to ourselves and I was having one of those rare moments where I was really feeling myself so it was the perfect excuse to get some outfit shots. Maybe it's because just before going up to the cafe I spent quite a bit of time playing around with all the 3CE make-up there but damn, this place kinda makes me look good!

Style Nanda Pink Pool Cafe - Hongdae - Seoul

But seriously, I think it's important to celebrate those days you feel good in your own skin and not be ashamed of it because we spend far too much time hating on ourselves and nitpicking at our flaws. I'm no model and I never will be but it's perfectly fine to have those moments where you feel fierce as hell like you should be on the cover of a damn magazine, so ignore the haters, take cute selfies and give sometime in your life to celebrate the awesomeness that is you because there is NOBODY else in this world like you!

What is one thing that makes you feel fierce?

#OOTD: My SWAGGER!

Seongsu-dong Graffiti Alley

So I'll admit over the past year I've gone through a style evolution and after over a decade I'm wearing jeans again and not just any jeans but skinny jeans! Now this is a big deal for me as I have a huge complex about my legs, they're just so short and wide compared to the rest of my body I never felt comfortable wearing trousers and while yes I still complain about them the fact that I'm here now wearing skinny jeans shows you how much more confident I am in my own skin. Since moving to Thailand my style has become what I like to refer to as "comfortable" so gone are my old kawaii poofy floral dresses as now I'm favouring a more easy sporty style whilst still keeping it kawaii! So when we found this amazing graffiti covered alley, thanks to our Korean drama adventures, I thought it would be the perfect backdrop to document my new street style.

Seongsu-dong Graffiti Alley

One of the things I've noticed through this style evolution is that I have a thing for jackets (and hoodies) and the majority of the time they're what my outfits are centred around because they're such an easy way to dress up and otherwise plain outfit and it also keeps the sun off my skin. This jacket I bought purely because I had seen the forever handsome, always my boi, Jackson Wang wearing it which is probably a stupid reason to buy something but once I tried it on and saw how good it looked on me I was sold, although teenage goth Cate would probably be turning in her grave seeing me wearing Kappa chav fashion but girl don't deny I look good in this jacket!

Seongsu-dong Graffiti Alley

The Kpop fashion influence has well and truly taken a hold of me but I'm loving it and just how comfy and chic it is. My SWAG hat is probably one of my favourite purchases from my travels to as I'd been looking for a new cap to keep the sun out of my eyes and I have a thing for cheesy slogans and I won't deny every time I wear it I do feel kinda SWAG!

What's one item from your closet that always makes you feel good?

Fashion Haul from Tokyo, Seoul & Bangkok

Chuu~~~~

I've always loved Asian fashion, there's just something that's so fun and unique about it all, so during my trip to Tokyo, Seoul and Bangkok I just had to pick up a few things. Although I've been living in Thailand for over 2 years now I've mostly avoided buying clothes and just wore what I packed in my suitcase to save not only some money for more travels but luggage room! However a lot of the clothes I have are worn out, no longer fit or are no longer my style so this trip was the perfect chance to get myself a whole new wardrobe and stock up on those essentials, especially now I know I'll be settling down in Thailand for a while.

Whilst in Japan I mostly visited the second hand/vintage stores in Harajuku to find what I wanted as not only are the prices generally cheaper but the clothing is surprisingly good quality compared to a lot of second hand stores you can find in other countries, luckily I managed to find a lot of things I loved for really cheap. In Korea however I focused on the more trendy stores which have been made popular by a lot of idols wearing the brands, but as it was winter at the time I was there and I'm living in the land of forever summer I didn't get too much and found myself picking up most of what I wanted back in Thailand. Overall I'm so happy with all my new clothes and I can't wait to start getting creative with them so hopefully you'll see some outfit posts from me in the future!

Zaful Winter Haul and Review

Zaful Winter Haul

Winter is here and although the climate in Thailand resembles a UK summer I will be visiting much colder climates soon so I thought I better get myself a few essentials because I don't even own a coat and I don't want to turn into a complete block of ice as soon as I step off the airplane! So after previously working with Zaful I had a few vouchers and Z Points to spend on the site and as I was really pleased with their quality and service last time I thought I would check them out and spend some of my own money there.

Zaful Winter Haul

I didn't actually want to invest too much into a winter wardrobe as I know I'll only really need it for the few weeks I'll be away and I'll of course be doing lots of shopping there so I mostly went for items that I knew I could layer and match with my existing wardrobe here. Every winter I seem to gravitate towards the colour red and this year it seems to be on trend and in fashion which means there's so many cute red items to chose from but I resisted the temptation and just got myself a sweater and a hoodie which were both really soft and comfy but quite thin so not really great for winter but perfect for the cooler weather in Thailand and I can always layer them with some thermal wear to make them more suitable for colder climates so I'll still get lots of wear out of them.

Zaful Winter Haul

When it comes to winter coats I can be extremely picky about them, in fact it was one of the first articles I wrote about on this blog because I think a good winter coat is essential and something you should invest in, but I decided to take a risk on getting one this time as I didn't feel the need to invest too much money into a coat I knew I would only be wearing for a short time. So I actually wasn't expecting too much from this coat but I absolutely adore it and it's everything you need for the winter it's thick, long, padded, hooded, fluffy, has lots of pockets and most importantly will keep me nice and toasty on those cold snowy days.

I wasn't asked to write this review this time, it was my own decision to shop with them and my own money that I spent but I just wanted to share the love with everyone and recommend them to anyone who's considering a purchase from them or is looking for some cute, cheap yet quality clothing. Once again I'm very pleased with everything from Zaful and it's definitely somewhere I will shop again if I need anything in the future.

Dresslily Review, Haul & Try On

Dresslily Haul Review & Try On

Dresslily contacted me asking me of they could send me some items in exchange for a review and as you saw in my previous wishlist post I was very impressed at their range of items from clothing to homeware but the one thing that caught my eye was yes you guessed it that awesome Sailor Moon inspired kitty backpack!

Shipping was fairly quick with the first package arriving to me in around a week and the second package arriving a week later and luckily this time Mr. Postman was able to find my address so there were no problems and Dresslily kept me fully updated with shipping times and tracking numbers.

Dresslily Haul Review & Try On

I decided to go for items slightly different to my normal style with the changing of the seasons, although Thailand is still ridiculously hot I'm going to be spending my winter somewhere much colder so I wanted things I was easily able to co-ordinate and layer so I went for a simple high neck crop top and a jumpsuit which both fit me perfectly thanks to the accurate measurements given on their website. Pro-tip don't just look at the standard sizing as they can vary from item to item, make sure to check the actual measurements given on the item page to make sure it'll fit!

Overall I was very pleased with my experience with Dresslily and I totally recommend them, that backpack is my absolute favourite thing and the quality is so good that I'm sure it will last me a long, long time! They have so much choice on their website that there's guaranteed something to suit all styles so go check them out and let me know what you think.

Zaful Review, Haul & Try-on

Zaful Haul & Try On

Zaful got in touch with me a few months ago asking if I'd like to try out a few of their products in exchange for a review so after checking out their website and seeing all the amazing clothing from pretty white lace cover up to chic striped blouses and how affordable they were I of course said yes! Zaful gave me between $30 - $35 to spend on the site so I tried to get as many different items as I could so I could show you the wide range and quality of the items they offer.

Zaful Haul & Try On

I did have a slight problem as two months had passed since my package was shipped and it hadn't arrived yet so I checked the tracking number and asked in various post offices if they knew where it was but they didn't seem to know anything. So I got in touch with my contact at Zaful again and explained the problem to them and they very kindly offered to send me another package so I re-ordered what items were still available and some new ones and thankfully it arrived safely to me in just 10 days along with the original package I thought was lost, so that was pretty lucky!

Zaful Haul & Try On

Zaful actually surprised me not only with their great customer service but the quality of the clothing as it exceeded my expectations considering how cheap and affordable the items are. I've had some pretty bad experiences with similar websites in the past with the clothing looking nothing like the photos as well as the sizes being completely off but I was happy to see how honest Zaful are at presenting their items. Everything fit me and my aesthetic so perfectly that it's hard to pick a favourite item because I love them all, I've pretty much been living in that grey sweater since it arrived as it's super comfy and perfect for cooler days.

Zaful Haul & Try On

Honestly I've been feeling in a fashion rut lately and thinking about getting a whole new wardrobe so this gave me a great opportunity to try out some fun new styles and play dress up. It's definitely a shop I will re-visit and purchase from as they have such a wide range of styles and sizes to suit everyone (even plus sizes!) and these outfits total less than $30 each which is a complete bargain! So if you're looking for some awesome affordable clothing I would definitely recommend you check them out and big thanks to Zaful for allowing me to review these gorgeous items.

#OOTD: Dark Justice

I think this is the 5th time I've dressed up as Zatanna and probably not the last and as I was getting reading for more comic con adventures I was reminded that the last time I wore this outfit was at San Diego Comic Con on the most amazing day ever when I met George RR Martin and the cast of Game of Thrones WOW!

So DC cancelled Justice League Dark which makes me hella sad because where am I going to get my Zatanna fix now? Also there's still little world on a movie happening but I'm still hoping and I have total faith in Guillermo Del Toro. Speaking of there was a rumour that the JLD movie would tie in with the Constantine TV series which brings me on to the reason why I decided to dress as the Mistress of Magic this particular day....

CONSTANTINE!!! If you follow me on Twitter you'll know how much I loved this show, I've been a longtime fan of Constantine/Hellblazer and although I did like the movie with Keanu Reeves I've been waiting for a more faithful representation of the character and Matt Ryan definitely brings that, he's awesome! I'm honestly so heartbroken that it's been cancelled it had so much potential and has been one of the favourite shows this year. I'm hoping it will find a home on another network as it has a very loyal fanbase already and there were hundreds of people lined up waiting to meet this guy but if it really is the end for the show at least there's new Hellblazer comics coming soon!

#OOTD: The Nightmare Stag

The Nightmare Stag

Hannibal is one of my favourite TV shows ever and I became quickly obsessed with it after seeing the first episode. Bryan Fuller has created such a beautiful yet grotesque world and I am in awe so I thought I would put together an outfit inspired by a constant visual theme in the show of the Wendigo and Nightmare Stag.

The Nightmare Stag

I am desperate for the next series of Hannibal to start! The acting, the visuals and the music are just perfect and it's one of the few things on TV I watch which I get completely immersed into, seriously when I'm watching it not even a car crashing through my living room could disturb me!

#OOTD: Doggie Style

Doggie Style

Walkies with The Russ Pup is my favourite time of the day, in fact any time spent with him is my favourite time of day, I think I'm definitely reaching crazy dog lady status! One of my favourite internet comic series at the moment is Corg Life, it's so funny and sweet and Otis the Corgi reminds me so much of our Russ, I definitely think Russ is part Corgi I mean look at those big ears...

Doggie Style

I got this Corgi jumper from the rescue center Russ came from and I absolutely love it, the crazy Corgi face reminds me so much of him. It's getting quite cold outside but this jumper is super warm so it's the perfect thing to wear out on walkies and even better it's completely handmade and all the money I spent on it went to the rescue center so they can take care of all of all their other adorable residents. I'm honestly so thankful to this place for bringing our little Russ pup into our lives it's not even been a year yet and I can't imagine life without him.

#OOTD: Mother of Dragons

Mother of Dragons

I am Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, the First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of Meereen, Queen of the Andals and the Rhoynar and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons and this is the most last minute, unplanned but fun cosplay I've done!

Mother of Dragons

Daenerys wasn't really a character that I wanted to cosplay as but I absolutely adore her outfits in the show so much so I got this blue dress made in Thailand although I didn't really intend to wear it as cosplay but as our trip to Belfast Film & Comic Con was a late decision and I didn't have time to finish my current cosplay project I'd thought it was the perfect excuse to order myself a wig, make a necklace and go as the Mother of Dragons.

click for fullsize
The dragon tooth for my necklace is actually a Sabre-Tooth Tiger claw replica I bought from a museum a while back all I needed to do was I paint it gold and add a chain to make it look like Dany's necklace from the show, the only other little thing I would've done to the necklace if I had some more time is dry brush it to make it look a bit more aged.

Mother of Dragons

There were loads of awesome cosplayers at Belfast Film & Comic Con and I loved that there were so many families doing group cosplays there, my favourite being Penguin and little Catwoman. I got lots of compliments on my outfit that I think I may have to wear this one again!

They'll be more photos & a full report of Belfast Film & Comic Con coming soon
