Beauty Blitz: 5 May Faves

This month I've been trying to concentrate on using up a bunch of those products which I've had stashed away for the longest time. I've uncovered quite a few things that I had forgotten all about and while some were not so good I did find some old favourites and some new gems.

J'adore Dior Perfume
I don't wear perfume that often but this one is one of my favourites and the sweet floral scent is just perfect for Spring. I've had this bottle for many years and there's only a tiny bit of it left now so I may have to add it to my birthday wishlist as I just love the smell of it so much.

Purederm Jung-an Sheet Mask
When I was last in Thailand I bought myself a load of sheet masks and have only just got round to using them and this one in particular is one of the ones which I really liked as it left my skin feeling really fresh and hydrated so I will definitely be stocking up on these again on my next trip!

E45 Cream

AKA the miracle cream, my skin has been flaring up something awful this month so I "treated" myself to some E45 as it does a super job at calming my skin and keeping it really moisturised.

Shea Life Tea Tree Butter Balm
I bought this from Love Lula a while ago thinking it would be similar to The Body Shop's body butters but it's actually more like the Egyptian Magic Cream but at a fraction of the price! This is a very intense balm which is perfect for psoriasis and eczema treatment, it's made from more natural and organic ingredients so isn't too harsh on your skin but really works and a little bit goes a heck of a long way so it's really good value for money, I've been using this for a couple months now and I still have almost a full tub so no doubt this will probably last me for the rest of the year!

TRESemme Split Remedy Serum
Although there is no cure for split ends I wanted to try something that would help bring some life back into the ends of my hair that were damaged from bleaching and although there wasn't really much of an immediate difference I got from using this I found after a month of using it regularly that my split ends did appear much healthier and reduced so it definitely did its job!

Be sure to share some of the beauty products you've been loving this month in the comments

A Lomo View On... Instagram!?

So I'm finally on Instagram and know what all the fuss is about, this app is pretty perfect for someone like me who purposely edits their pictures to make them look vintage and loves to photograph anything and everything in the world I find interesting.

Pretty much all my friends on Instagram like to document the lives of their cute kitties but alas I have no cute kitty to cuddle so I document the life of my fishies instead and am always photographing my gorgeous Siamese Fighting Fish, Balon, who is the self proclaimed King of the tank!

Speaking of Game of Thrones there's a healthy dose of that on my Instagram to, including some pictures of the cast I met recently HODOR!, my beloved Longclaw as well as my growing number of Game of Thrones related craft projects!

Crafts are a big part of my life and I'm happiest when I'm creating art, for those of you who don't know I have an Etsy Shop where I sell a bunch of cute jewellery and accessories and Instagram has been a great way of showing off those crafts and giving sneak peaks into some of the projects I'm working on.

Food is another one of my passions and I often wonder what people must think of me when I'm out at restaurants photographing all the food we eat but I just can't help it the deliciousness needs to be documented and it's also interesting to note that my food photos are my most "liked" photos on Instagram.

Pretty much my thing when I'm "lomo-ing" is to just shoot whatever I find interesting or pretty and I guess that's why I love Instagram because wherever I am whatever I'm doing if I see a great photo opportunity all I have to do is whip out my phone and snap a picture and in an instant I've captured a beautiful image I can love and share with the world.

So guys be sure to add me on Instagram my username, as always, is Cateaclysmic and do let me know in the comments what your favourite camera and photo sharing apps are.

Inspirational Quotes #26

Being a sex symbol has to do with an attitude, not looks. Most men think it's looks, most women know otherwise.

Tofu Terriyaki Stir-Fry

Tofu terriyaki stir-fry is my new obsession! I've pretty much been living on the stuff for the past month and not only is it super yummy it's also super healthy, super easy to make and suitable for my vegan friends to munch on to and if you want to be extra healthy why not make yourself a bowl of steamy brown rice to eat it with.

  • Tofu
  • Portabello Mushroom
  • Mange Tout
  • Kale
  • Chinese Leaf Lettuce
  • Garlic
  • Terriyaki Sauce
  • Carotino Oil (or whichever oil you prefer cooking with)

Add a tablespoon of oil to a wok and place it on a high heat.

Slice the garlic, tofu, Chinese leaf, mushroom and kale into your desired size, I like to keep them chunky so they stay crisp when cooked.

Place the garlic and tofu into the heated wok and cook until they are slightly browned and crisp.

Add the rest of the vegetables to the wok and cook then for a few minutes until they are softened.

Add a tablespoon of the terriyaki sauce, toss, then take of the heat and serve.

Eat it alone or with rice or noodles.

Eat & Enjoy!
