5 Fandom Friday: 5 TV Shows I Would Un-Cancel

Welcome to another Fandom FriYAY! Sorry it's been a while since my last one (almost 2 months) but life has been crazy, anyway this week we're talking about TV shows we loved that were unfortunately cancelled which is a subject very close to my heart as a fangirl as I feel this is constantly happening to shows that I love and it breaks my nerdy heart. Angel

I think Angel was the first TV Show I really got upset about them cancelling. Like many others I absolutely adored Buffy but I think I loved watching Angel more and I felt there were just so many more stories for them to tell and I loved the dynamic of the team with some of my favourite characters from Buffy like Cordelia, Wesley and Spike and the new characters of Lorne, Gun and Fred. I would have loved to see at least one more season of the show to wrap things up, Buffy I think got an ending that everyone was satisfied that felt like an ending but the finale of Angel felt way too random and rushed.

Hannibal

Hannibal was such a beautiful show with a perfect cast that just conveyed mood and atmosphere so perfectly, I almost felt like I fell into a trace while watching it it immersed me so much. There is just no other show on TV like this and I would have absolutely loved to see it grow and develop and new characters like Clarice be introduced but unfortunately it's lifespan was cut short. I'm still super salty about this as it had such a dedicated fanbase and following to but I guess it's the curse of Bryan Fuller... please don't let American Gods get cut short to!

Almost Human

I mentioned Almost Human in my last post but it deserves another mention in this post because it's another show that got cut after just one season which I loved. This was essentially a sci-fi buddy cop show and I normally don't enjoy cop shows but this one had an amazing cast, Karl Urban was just so perfectly cast and had so much humour and rapport with his droid companion, there was enough sci-fi and mystery to keep me entertained and wanting more and I really wish it would have had another season.

Constantine

WHY was this show cancelled after just one season? I have been a fan of the Hellblazer comics for the longest time and Justice League Dark is one of my newer favourite comic book series to so I had so much anticipation for this series. I did like the Keanu Reeves movie but he just didn't give me those Constantine feels but Matt Ryan definitely did and played the role so perfectly so much so he had a small guest role on Arrow and even Guillermo Del Toro was considering casting him for the Justice League Dark movie which he's unfortunately not working on anymore (WTF DC!?) I think given the chance he would have really grown so much into the role and I'm still hoping the CW will pick up the show but I guess they already have that genre covered with Supernatural...

Agent Carter

I'm honestly so heartbroken that I'll never get to see Peggy Carter ever again in the MCU, not only was Peggy such an amazing character strong, funny, feminine, witty, smart, etc. but Hayley Atwell was in real life to. I enjoyed this series so much and I felt like it was something that was definitely needed in this male dominated superhero world and I was really looking forward to seeing the development of S.H.I.E.L.D. between Peggy and Howard Stark (also shoutout to Jarvis who I loved to!) but unfortunately it looks like this will never happen... Marvel please bring back Agent Carter I miss her so much!

5 Fandom Friday: Favourite Droids

Happy Fandom Friday!! This week's topic suggested by Ravalation I just had to write about. I've always been fascinated by robots and artificial intelligence ever since I was a kid and it's one of my favourite subjects to watch but I wanted to challenge myself a little for this prompt and try and be a little diverse as I probably could have gone the obvious route and listed 5 droids from Star Wars alone so I tried to include some slightly unusual choices from a few different genres just to keep it fresh this time. Wall-E

I love Wall-E so much, it doesn't matter how many times I watch this movie it always makes me smile. I know I've mentioned Wall-E so many times in my past 5 Fandom Friday posts but he's just so cute and sweet, whenever I'm feeling a little bit down I always turn to Wall-E to make me smile he's just the best little robot ever!

Roy Batty

Blade Runner is my favourite movie and every time I watch it I always see something new, although there are so many different cuts of the movie there's always something new to see but it always seems to surprise me or make me think in different ways. The last speech of Roy Batty is just so iconic and so beautiful, I can't help but want to learn more about him as he's such an interesting character who has experienced and feels so much, he really makes you question what it means to be human.

Dorian 

Almost Human was such a good series and even though it was cancelled after just one series I still really miss it. Dorian was one of my favourite characters and I found his developing story to be quite interesting even though it was very short lived. I also loved his humour and his relationship with Kennex (Karl Urban), they had such amazing chemistry together and made a great team. If you haven't watched Almost Human yet then I totally recommend it it's such a good series and a novel take on the "buddy cop" genre.

Genos

So technically Genos is a cyborg BUT it's kinda up for debate as he seems to be more robot than actual human and he also acts that way to which is what I really like about him. I can't believe it took me so long to watch One Punch Man but I love the series so much and while I think Saitama is pretty damn awesome Genos is probably my fave but part of that is because of his strange yet adorable relationship with Saitama, I totally want me a Genos he seems like such an awesome friend.

Samantha

I'm really pushing the definition of "droid" with this one but I had to include it because I thought it was so different. Her is one of my absolute favourite movies and I thought I was a really interesting concept about the developing relationships between humans technology in not just practical ways but emotional ways to. Although "Samantha" has no physical body she has a fully developed personality and growing emotions to which I found really unique because the love that develops between the characters although completely "synthetic" with no physical base seems more pure and genuine than some human relationships. Samantha also helps Theodore grow as a character giving him confidence and teaching him how to be a happier person and I just think that is so beautiful.

5 Fandom Friday: Galentine's Day Gifts

YEY FANDOM FRIDAY IS BACK!! This week we're sharing out 5 favourite Galentine's Day gifts which is a whole new concept to me but one I really love because my "gal pals" definitely deserve some love this Valentine's season to in fact I'll take any excuse to spoil my awesome friends because they all deserve it! ♥ Yankee Candles - I find that if I'm feeling stressed or want to relax one of the things that helps is to light a scented candle so I figure I would share the love with my girlfriends because y'all need to treat yo' self!

♥ Notebook - Whether you need to write your thoughts down, write your next awesome novel or just your weekly shopping list notebooks are great gifts, super cute and really useful to.

♥ Etude House Bubble Tea Sleeping Pack - Etude House make my favourite cute cosmetics and they work wonders on my skin so what better way to relax and treat yourself than with a super cute facemask.

♥ Rat Queens - This is one of my fave "Girl Power" comics which I know I've mentioned several times before but I want everyone to read it because it's awesome, fun and crass all at the same time.

♥ Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt - Speaking of awesome, fun and crass things I recently re-discovered one of my fave anime series, it's like Powerpuff Girls on crack and I love it especially the dubbed version which is done so perfectly you'd think it wasn't an anime at all!

5 Fandom Friday: Favourite Halloween Episodes of TV Shows

Halloween is tomorrow and I'm so excited I love this holiday so much! I always watch so much TV during this time of year and the Halloween specials are my absolute favourite thing whether they be creepy as heck or humorous. Growning up in the U.K. Halloween wasn't really celebrated so I always loved watching American Shows and seeing how they did Halloween and I know it's probably not really like that but I'm still a little bit envious because I would love to see houses all decked out in spooky decorations and costumed kids running around everywhere having fun, so as usual I will celebrate the season by watching copious amounts of TV and eating far too much candy, HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!

The Simpson's Treehouse of Horror

I love The Simpson's and the Halloween episodes are so much fun, I always like seeing their humorous takes on popular TV shows and movies and I love the credits to, the Halloween names are a great touch and I definitely need to think of a cool Halloween name for myself.

Supernatural

"It's the Great Pumpkin, Sam Winchester" is one of those classic SPN episodes you've got the humour, the mythology, angels, demons and the real punch in the feels at the end. This is one of my fave "Winchester" episodes as Dean is at his comedic best and Sam.... whoa, you'll just have to watch and find out...

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

There's been a few Halloween episodes of Buffy but "Fear Itself" is my fave because Anya in a bunny costume is the cutest thing ever! Seriously though I love this one for much the same reasons as Supernatural it's got humour, lot's of spooky stuff and The Scoobies all really shine in this episode, also I love the twist at the end to SO GOOD!

American Horror Story

So I kinda have a love hate relationship with this show I loved Murder House, Asylum was so weird but OMG Zac Quinto was awesome, I loved all the characters in Coven but the story not so much and Freakshow.... meh but the Halloween episodes were some of the best in the entire series so I will be watching yet again this year.... Goddamnit I wish I knew how to quit you!

Modern Family

If I ever decide to become I mother I was to be just like Claire I love how obsessive she is over Halloween. Modern Family makes me laugh so much and Gloria reminds me so much of my mum it's ridiculous, I think I've seen this episode a million times but it always makes me giggle and it's so warm and loving to they are the best family.

5 Fandom Friday: Characters I Want to Dress Up as for Halloween

When I first started joining in on Fandom 5 this topic was the one I was the most excited about and it's still one of my favourite ever posts I've done so I was super excited to see it again on the topics list for this month. Hannibal is gone but not forgotten and I will take any excuse I can to wear my floral antlers. These antlers are really simple to make to should you want to dress up as a Wendigo or a fawn or even a Moose the possibilities are endless.

Patrick Bateman

Speaking of sharp suited serial killers I had to mention Patrick Bateman. American Psycho is one of my all time favourite movies and I've wanted to cosplay as him for ages I mean I even bought a clear raincoat earlier this year in his (and Hannibal's) honour.

Daryl Dixon

One of my most popular tutorials is for Daryl's angel wing vest and it gets a lot of hits during this time of year because who doesn't want to be a badass like Daryl? As the main focus of his outfit is his vest this is a simple one to do should you need to put together an outfit super quick.

Speaking of bad ass boys in vests I had to end on this one. I call my dog Russ-a-raptor quite often because he likes to pounce and play bite me and as we started this post with dog costumes I thought I would present to you the most humiliating awesome dog costume there is, yep I'm definitely dressing up as a Raptor Wrangler this year!

5 Fandom Friday: Top 5 Halloween Traditions

Halloween has never really been as big of a holiday as it should be here although ever since I was a little kid I have always done something to celebrate the occassion, I've always been interested in the supernatural and Halloween is the time I like to celebrate my geekiness plus it's a good excuse to dress up and I love dressing up whatever the occasion, thanks to Sylvanfire who suggested the topic this week so here are some of the ways I like to celebrate the awesomeness of Halloween.

Baking

Baking is my favourite hobby at this time of year and I love making Halloween treats like cookies and cakes to share with family and friends

Dressing Up

Cosplay is one of my favourite hobbies and although I don't really go out for Halloween I always like to dress up even if I'm stay in the house, it's something I've done since I was a little kid and I've always loved it.

Crafts

I love making stuff and I get so inspired around Halloween time that my Etsy Shop takes on a spooky theme, my favourite thing to make is though is definitely my Zombie Frankenkitty scarves

Movies

My biggest Halloween tradition which has and will always be is to watch a bunch of spooky movies, when I was younger I would go to the cinema with friends (sometimes dressed up) but now we prefer to stay in and watch movies, last year I did an Alfred Hitchcock marathon but this year I'm open to suggestions so leave me some recommendations in the comments

Halloween Sales

My favourite time of the year is just after Halloween when all the awesome spooky merch goes on sale it's better than Christmas to me, I have so many sparkly skulls decorating the batcave and I always stock up on Halloween tights, Halloween is more than a day to me it's a lifestyle!

5 Fandom Friday: People You Want on Your Side During an Apocalypse

Is it weird that I think about this topic a lot? I blame the ridiculous amount of post-apocalyptic TV shows and movies there are out there because there are oh so many and most of them funnily enough are my fave to watch. Big guns and swords to Kendall Ashley who suggested the topic this week it was tough to think of just 5 but I tried not to over think it too much and went with the first people that popped into my brain.

Buffy

So if anyone can kick the apocalypse in the butt it's Buffy and she's mighty witty about it to, kicking ass with Buffy would be so much fun and failing that at least she would keep you safe!

The Winchesters

Speaking of kicking the apocalypse in the butt I couldn't not mention The Winchester boys and yes Cas to because he is essentially one of the boys because family don't end with blood yo!

Daryl & Michonne

So failing becoming queen of the zombies I would join forces with these two beautiful people who are not only my favourite characters from TWD but quite possibly the ones who do the most amount of zombie damage and even goddamn better than that Michonne brought Carl comics I mean anyone who risks their life to bring me comics during the zombie apocalypse is somebody I want on my team.

Steve & Peggy

I love these two so much and they both fight for everything that is good and true and that is a team I want to be on forever and always until the end of the line.

Friends & Family

A bit of a sappy one because after a recent brush with death I have realised that the only people I would really want by my side during the end of the world is the people I love the most, my awesome friends (yes internet friends count), my family and of course my pooch.

5 Fandom Friday: Pumpkin Items Cannot Wait To Make

For some silly reason pumpkins are not as big a deal here as in America, I mean you'd be lucky to find anything pumpkin spice or pumpkin flavoured in stores although I will admit the pumpkin trend is growing now Starbucks have finally started doing the infamous PSL in U.K. branches I also really enjoyed the pumpkin spice bread they had in stores last year to. Last pumpkin season I took it upon myself to make my own pumpkin treats so this year I'll be doing the same, I have a whole bunch of delicious recipes bookmarked and hopefully I'll share more with you all once I've tested a few out, so onto the nommies....

5 Fandom Friday: Favourite Things About Autumn

Is it really Autumn already? I don't even think we've had a summer this year with all the rain and gloom but I do enjoy Autumn it's such a beautiful time of year and I love all the apple spice and pumpkin spice things that are invading our supermarkets everything just smells and tastes so yummy and hearty which is exactly what you need at this time of year, so HECK YEAH AUTUMN!

The Trees

The trees are so beautiful in Autumn I love the ricj golden tones and crunching through all the leaves in the woods, this is the best time of the year for taking the dog for a walk.

 

Apples

Specifically from my own garden well actually my Nan's Garden, in fact I love them so much it was the one of the first things I wrote about on my old blogspot and although that specific apple tree is gone now we have 2 others and they taste just as good in fact our newest apple tree has a variety of apples called Katy.

Hot Tea

I love tea it's so warming and refreshing and I always crave a little spice in my tea during autumn so sometimes I boil some black tea apple slices, cinnamon sticks, cloves and add a touch of maple syrup for sweetness, trust me it's pure heaven!

Halloween

Halloween has always been my favourite holiday although it's not really celebrated as much here as it is in the US but I still absolutely adore Halloween and all the awesome merch and sweeties and dressing up and movies basically every thing Halloween!

TV SHOWS!!!

I LOVE this time of year because there's new seasons and new series a plenty, I always find new things to love and obsess about and because it's colder outside I have a perfect excuse to stay home with my hot tea and my veggie casserole and watch copious amounts of TV, pure nerdy bliss!
