Thing That Make You Go Oooooo (March 2020)

Guangzhou

It's been a really tough month .... I'm sure many of you around the world are all in the same situation now of being in lockdown and not being able to go outside, life is not normal for anyone right now ... but just before lockdown I managed to attend one last GOT7 event as unfortunately the birthday celebrations for my boy Jackson Wang had to be put on hold, also some more bad new for Ahgase as B'Chill BamBam's family restaurant announced they would be closing indefinitely... It really is tough times for everyone and to all you you who have also lost their jobs and are struggling, I hope we can all get through this together, it's important we stay strong and stay healthy during these times.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACKSON WANG!!

Today is the birthday of one of my favourite humans in this world, Jackson Wang. Words really can't express just how much I admire him and how much happiness he's brought to my life. I was in a dark place a few years ago but listening to Jackson's music, his story and his words really helped me and inspired me to continue on with my dreams, his new song 100 Ways came out a week ago and it is a masterpiece, I'm so proud of how much he has grown so please give it a listen if you can.

Jackson once said "I hope we can care more about the loved ones around us" and thinking about these words I decided this year I would skip the birthday celebrations and stay home with my grandparents and avoid any possible risk of giving them this virus. I'm a bit sad but I know there will be other birthdays and events, right now it's important we all work together to combat this virus and protect the vulnerable from danger, something which I know Jackson would tell us to do to. So instead to celebrate Jackson's birthday I wanted to share all the events and projects that fans did for him in Thailand last year.

There were so many cafes offering celebratory cup-sleeves for Jackson last year there was no way I could visit them all but I still visited quite a lot as you can probably see and on my way to the different cafes I made sure to stop at different stations to check out the birthday adverts for him. I think I spent two days visiting different places that were holding birthday events for Jackson and one of them was a gallery event by the fansite Goodfeeling9498 which had so many beautiful photos of him on display that I almost came home with one!

I celebrated a bit too hard and had a bit too much sugar last year for Jackson's birthday so I ended up getting a headache and having to cut the celebrations short but it was still lots of fun, and it taught me to better plan what events to go to, pace myself better .... and not drink so much soda! Thailand really does have a lot of love for Jackson.

Even though I'm staying home this year there are still lots of ways you can celebrate Jackson's birthday and do something fun and meaningful. Last year I set aside $100 to donate to different fan run charity projects in Thailand, one was for turtle conservation, one for disabled children, one for stray dogs and one was a project to put birthday adverts on trucks in Chiang Mai and because I donated a certain amount to these projects a few sent me gifts (some of which I am giving away for Jackson's birthday). This year, although I didn't have quite as much cash to spare to donate to different projects, I decided to donate to just one, a project to help disabled animals, as it's a cause quite close to my heart. Hopefully next year if all goes well I can maybe do my own project to raise money for charity in Jackson's name.

There are so many different events and projects happening all over the world for Jackson's birthday, so please do find out if there's anything happening in your country as each year the celebrations seem to get even bigger and it's such a joy to see everyone around the world come together to celebrate Jackson's special day.

Even though these are really hard and uncertain times I feel really blessed to have someone like Jackson putting new music and positivity into this world. I really am grateful to have him in my life and I hope once the situation improves to see him again in better days, when we're all healthy and happier, performing on that stage , doing the thing he loves the most.

How To Get to B'Chill (GOT7 BamBam's Restaurant ) Bangkok , Thailand

One of the most commonly asked questions I get from GOT7 fans is how to get to B'Chill (BamBam's family owned restaurant, cafe & bar) so I thought I would make a little video of how you can easily visit there via Bangkok's BTS and BRT services. This location is very easy to visit via public transportation and the whole journey shouldn't cost you anymore than $3 so I totally recommend you use this method as traffic in Bangkok can get really crazy at times so this will save you so much time and money.

Step by Step Guide

♥ Take the BTS to Chong Nonsi Station (฿15 - ฿59)

♥ If you are travelling on the Sukhumvit line you will need to change to the Silom line at Siam Station (Platform 3 to Bang Wa)

♥ At Chong Nonsi Station follow the exit signs to Bangkok BRT

♥ From BRT Sathorn travel to BRT Wat Pariwat (฿15)

♥ At Wat Priwat station exit left from the station then head onwards (same direction as you were travelling via BRT) up the road for about 5 minutes

♥ You will see a sign for B'Chill at the entrance of a road, walk down that road to the end and enter through where 'Baan Itmorn' is written and B'Chil will be on your right

B'Chill is a really great place to chill, the food is amazing as always and sunset there is beautiful! It's open everyday, weeknights after 5pm and Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 11am to 2am. It's usually quieter to visit in the daytime or weekdays unless there is a special event happening such as a GOT7 birthday or anniversary celebration and on weekend nights it turns into party central for ahgase! I would also highly recommend you contact them to book at table if you intend to visit on a weekend night or during an event or concert weekend as it can fill up really fast and you may not have a place to sit!

BamBam's family visit there often in the evenings, especially on special occasions, I ran into Mama B just as I was leaving on BamBam's birthday last year and wished her a happy birthday as it was her special day to. They're always sweet and kind to the people who come visit them so don't be scared to say hello and ask for a photo if you want one, they all speak great English to so don't worry if you can't speak Thai. I hope this guide is helpful and if you have anymore questions on how to get there etc. feel free to ask and I will try my best to help, B'Chill is definitely a place you must visit if you're Ahgase coming to Thailand.

What is the place you want to visit the most in Thailand?

UPDATE: B'CHILL WILL CLOSE AT THE END OF MARCH 2020
I will keep this guide up for the memories but if you're visiting after March 2020 it will no longer be in business, I hope one day in the future day B'Chill can return in but no matter what thank you so much to BamBam and his family for working so hard and giving GOT7 fans this wonderful safe place to meet and make new friends, I will never forget the good times I had there!
ขอบคุณทุกคนสำหรับ B'Chill ฉันจะเก็บไว้ในใจเสมอ

ROAD TO GOT7 2020 WORLD TOUR 'KEEP SPINNING' IN BANGKOK' EXHIBITION

GOT7 are about to perform their 1st ever stadium concert in Thailand to a 2 day SOLD OUT crowd of over 50,000 people! Unfortunately the initial dates had to be postponed but the concert has been rescheduled for May so to celebrate the concert organisers 4NOLOGUE held a special 3 day exhibition showcasing GOT7's rise in Thailand, with photos and merchandise from all the concerts and fanmeets they've done here over the past 6 years since their debut.

Two years ago I attended a similar event (also in Emquartier) to celebrate Nestival which was their 1st Thailand tour, something which no other international group has ever done! Nestival was also the first time I saw GOT7 in concert and seeing all the photographs and signed merch from the events brought back some very happy memories. I missed out on seeing FLY the first World Tour in Bangkok as I was starting University in Chiang Mai at that time so Nestival in Chiang Mai was my first opportunity to see them live after becoming a fan. I haven't been to every fanmeet or concert in Thailand but I have been lucky enough to go to lot and they have always been some of the happiest and most fun times of my life.

As well as the exhibition itself there were also opportunities throughout the day to do activities where you could win prizes and a booth set up where you could buy official merchandise, unfortunately after waiting 2 hours in line prior to opening I was still not able to get what I wanted as it sold out super fast so I'll just have to wait for the concert in May and hope they don't sell out again there!

One of the things I feel the most is that GOT7's concert organisers in Thailand are just as big fans and supporters of the group as we are and this was a really nice free event to put on for us especially after the original concert dates had to be postponed. It was really nice to look back on everything that they have done in Thailand and see how much they have grown and I can't wait to go to their biggest concert yet, I'm sure it will be amazing!!!
