5 Fandom Friday: Fictional Pets I'd Like To Adopt

Welcome to another Fandom Friday brought to you buy The Nerdy Girly & Super Space Chick, this week we're talking about the cutest animals in all the fandom relm and listing the pets we want to adopt which *spoiler alert* for me is ALL THE PETS! I'm one of those people that doesn't care who lives or dies as long as the animals survive, fun fact, it took me 4 attempts to watch The Drop because I was getting so stressed that something would happen to the dog, in relation I totally get it John Wick because if anyone did that to my dog I'd go on a rampage to! There's so many pets I could put on this list I may just have to do a Fandom 5 part 2...

Ghost
Daenery's and her dragons seem cool but let's face it they're kind of bratty the Direwolves seem much easier to handle and there's the whole warg thing to which must be an amazing experience. Ghost is loyal yet independent and he'll keep you safe and warm on those cold winter nights, definitely my favourite Direwolf of the pack.

Toothless
Drogon and co. seem a bit belligerent for me to want as pets but this dragon would be perfect I mean Toothless is essentially a dragon with the personality of a dog. I adore the relationship between him and Hiccup and am totally envious because I mean who doesn't want a pet dragon?

Krypto
A dog with all the cool superpowers of Superman need I say more? I mean this would take walkies to a whole new level, Krypto has to be the coolest dog ever!

Winston & Friends
Winston the only one of the pack with a name (and not in this picture) but I would happily adopt all these dogs because I love dogs and I'm a sucker for adopting waifs and strays speaking of while we're at it I'll adopt Will Graham to because let's face it he's the cutest puppy of the pack.

Pascal
I was very close to listing Dug from Up but I think you get the point that I'm dog obsessed and will adopt any and all dogs even the smelly mean ones so I thought I would change it up and go with Pascal because I love chameleons they're adorable with their expressive eyes and little hands and Pascal is such a cool dude I bet he would make an awesome friend!

#LFCC: Meeting Hayley Atwell AKA Agent Carter

Ever since Peggy's introduction in Captain America: The First Avenger, I have been obsessed with this lady. When I heard about the one-shot debut at San Diego Comic Con I got there first thing to get tickets but unfortunately with the craziness that was Game of Thrones I missed out on seeing it BUT to my delight she returned with her own whole series and OMG it is the best thing currently on TV and I cannot put into words my love for this lady. I was thinking of skipping London Comic Con this year to save some cash but as soon as Hayley Atwell was announced as a guest I knew I had to go, unfortunately tickets quickly sold out for the weekend and just as I was about to admit defeat my awesome Dad knowing my love for Peggy got us a pair of gold passes so of course I cried...

LFCC Hayley Atwell

I've been doing this Captain Carter outfit/cosplay thing since SDCC in 2013 so I thought I would do a mash up of past outfits seeing as I wouldn't have time to make a new one and even though I said I wouldn't do a con in heels again I had to wear the Peggy shoes because they're THE shoes she wore in the show. I was very excited but nervous to meet her and add heels into the mix and there was a very real chance of me falling flat on my face (Fun Fact: when I first met Kristian Nairn AKA Hodor I tripped and fell into his desk... so glamorous!). My first encounter with her was at her photoshoot and I honestly felt so faint and giddy waiting for my turn but thankfully I didn't fall over and when my turn came her eyes lit up and she said she really loved my outfit and I looked fantastic and all I could manage to say to her was a very squeaky "THANK YOU!" before skipping out of the photobooth.

LFCC Hayley Atwell

LFCC Hayley Atwell

When I met her again later at the signing I had no idea what I said to her or what we spoke about I was just in a complete daze but there was so many things I wanted to say to her like how much I love her, how grateful I am for her for speaking up about representation and equality and how much she's influenced and made me want to be the best person I can possibly be but I was so damn stunned I think I just said thank you a million times while grinning like an idiot but at least I didn't cry or fall over so that's something...

LFCC Hayley Atwell

LFCC Hayley Atwell

At the end of the day Hayley gave a talk and when she first came of stage she spotted me in the hat pointed at me grinning and gave me a wave then preceded to tell us all about her dubsmash adventures in SDCC and how she took a 5 hour flight to Altanta to make a 9 second video with Chris Evans (if you haven't seen it go forth and watch the madness it's amazing!) then as soon as it was done flew back to LA and how much fun they have on set pranking each other. Most importantly though she spoke so eloquently about the importance of Peggy and her role as a feminist working which almost made me cry because she just gets it and she's not afraid to speak out, it was just everything I love about her and it made me so happy, Peggy is definitely paving the way for more female led roles and representation in the superhero worlds and this is what I've always wanted, it's so warming to hear that Marvel are really taking these issues seriously and not just brushing us off. It's not everyday you get to meet your heroes and Hayley Atwell is definitely one of mine, she's a beautiful human inside and out and I wish her all the best and I can't wait to see more of her and Agent Carter soon.

5 Fandom Friday: Fictional Vehicles I'd Love To Travel In

Welcome to another Fandom Friday brought to you buy The Nerdy Girly & Super Space Chickfor our topic this week we're talking transport. I have to admit for someone who travels quite a bit I don't travel well so instant teleportation a la Star Trek would be ideal for me, but there are some uber cool vehicles out there which have become just as iconic as the shows there in so here are just a few of my faves.

The Impala
Unlike Dean I'd rather fly everywhere than drive but I'd make an exception for Baby who seems to be the most reliable, magical car out there who seems travel across country in a matter of hours.... Ok jokes aside I do love this car, she's got a rich, loving history she's basically a Winchester and to top it all off she looks bad ass!

The DeLorean
Delorean
I mean do I really have to explain this one? It's a car that can travel through time I can't think of anyone in the galaxy who doesn't want a car that can do that.

S.H.I.E.L.D. Hellicarrier
This thing is so damn cool it blows my mind! I love flying it's my favourite form of transportation and could you imagine flying in this I mean it's kinda like a cruise liner IN THE SKY the view must be amazing, not to mention it would be full of ultra cool gizmos and gadgets to play with.

Nanananana Batman!!
Batmobile
For someone who doesn't like cars there's quite a few on this list but I couldn't resist a ride in the Batmobile I mean it's The Batmobile it;s iconic and there's enough gadgets to play around in there it would keep me occupied for days also ain't nobody going to mess with The Batmobile they see you coming they're going to get outta the way!

Captain America's Motorcycle
Preferably with Cap ♥ I love a good motorcycle ride and it has been waaay too long since I last rode on one. I prefer being on a motorcycle much more than being in a car and at some point I want to learn how to properly handle one so I can get my own bike and ride into the sunset!

5 Fandom Friday: Things I Own That I Bought At Cons

It's Friday so you know what that means it's another edition of 5 Fandom Friday created by the always awesome The Nerdy Girly and Super Space Chick so be sure to check out their blogs. Today is the start of London Film and Comic Con which I've been attending almost every year for the past 8 years... WOW! As there aren't very many good geeky stores near where I live I always use cons as an opportunity to stock up as there's always amazing merchandise available at them and some great special offers to, no doubt this weekend I will be making a fair few awesome purchases so be sure to keep an eye of for a post on that soon...

Night Gathers, And Now My Watch Begins
Longclaw
Quite possibly the biggest amount of cash I've dropped at a con on a single item but when I saw Longclaw for sale I could not leave it behind especially as it was already sold out on Valyrian Steel. I bought this from MCM Birmingham back in 2012 and if you've ever been to the NEC you'll know it's quite a walk from the car park to the convention center and the box it was in was almost as big as me, so I must have been quite a sight lugging this beast around but it was totally worth the pain as it takes pride of place on the wall of The Batcave and at least I know I'll be safe from White Walkers!

Stan Lee Signed Stuff
Marvel Avengers Phase 1 Blu Ray Box Set
Here in the UK we don't get the cool collectors edition box sets so if we want them them we have to order directly from the US and with shipping and customs fees it gets hella pricey so when I was at SDCC I thought would go ahead and treat myself because not only is it amazing it came with a free awesome signed poster by Skottie Young, then to make it even more awesome I decided to get it signed by Stan Lee when I met him last year and tomorrow my queen Hayley Atwell will be signing it to!

Comics Haul
Comics!
Whenever I'm at a con I always stock up on a load of comics, there isn't a comic book shop in my town and I hardly get the chance to visit ones out of town so when I'm at a con I head straight for the comics, in fact one of my favourite con activities is raiding the bargain boxes for hidden gems.

Batusi Batman
Batusi Batman
Pretty much as soon as this was announced as a SDCC exclusive I knew I had to have it and reserved myself one to pick up as quick as a costume change on a bat pole!

Force FX Darth Maul Lightsaber
My first con and my first purchase was these lighsabers, I honestly think Darth Maul and that lightsaber duel was the best thing about the prequels he was such a cool villian I wished he had lasted longer and this double lightsaber is the coolest thing ever! Fun fact: When I lived alone I used to keep one under my bed as protection and I know as realistic as they look they aren't actually real but they're quite heavy and I'm sure a hard wack in the head with one would at least do a little damage...

Inspirational Quotes #64

"My real self, the self I have always been from a child, is a loner and nerd, slightly overweight, with a very heavy fringe. That is who I was as a kid. I don't think I will ever be anything other than that." - Hayley Atwell

5 Fandom Friday: Spinoffs I'd Like To See Get Made

Welcome to another Fandom Friday brought to you by The Nerdy Girly & Super Space Chick. This week we have another awesome topic all about spinoffs. Spinoffs seem to be the "in thing" at the moment and there seems to be no end of them I mean Legends of Tomorrow is spinoff of Flash which is a spin off of Arrow which is a spinoff of Smallville which is a spinoff of Superman which is enough to make my head spin off!

Before the Throne
Game of Thrones is moving so quickly that there's a definite end in sight but that's just one story there is so much else to explore in this world. A Song of Ice and Fire is full of rich characters and history and one of the most interesting things about the books is as you're moving forward through the story you're also moving back and gaining all this knowledge which helps you understand so much about that world, so much of this is only hinted at in the show through vague mentions of the Targaryen dynasty and Robert's Rebellion but I would love to see it played out on screen.

Jurassic World vs Godzilla
Since I saw Jurassic World I can't stop thinking about what if Godzilla popped up on the island, I'm a complete sucker for monster movies and my imagination has been running wild I mean  the next Godzilla movie is called Monster Island and Legendary owns both franchises AND Pacific Rim OMG could you imagine all those bad ass beasts in one movie, it would be EPIC!

Krypton
It's no secret that I was a really disappointed with Man of Steel and the new Superman but the one thing I did like about the movie was what they did with Krypton. I thought Russell Crowe made a great Jor-El and wouldn't mind seeing a whole movie centred around him or General Zod and their life on Krypton long before it's inevitable demise.

Nightwing
I know the Nolan Bat Trilogy is over but I would have loved to see Joseph Gordon-Levitt as Nightwing, as soon as he was cast in the movie I pretty much called it that he would be Robin and he didn't disappoint, JGL has always been one of my favourite actors (ever since 3rd Rock from the Sun!) and would be amazing as Nightwing! As much as I love Batman I'm getting a bit of fatigue from all the Bat centric movies and would love for the focus to shift on some of the other characters especially the Boy Wonder.

Replicants
"I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in rain. Time to die" - Roy Batty (Blade Runner)

5 Fandom Friday: Favourite Aliens

I may have squealed just a little bit when I saw the topic for this week's #Fandom5 because aliens are definitely a long time love of mine and I could easily have named at least 5 more aliens I love there's just so many! Much love as always to The Nerdy Girlie & Super Space Chick for creating 5 Fandom Friday and with that let's get onto the good stuff...

Superman
This guy is my first and always Superhero love, he's the epitome of good and something I always aspire to be. I have to admit although I don't keep up to date with his comic book adventures much anymore I still care very much for him as he was such a huge part of my childhood.

E.T.
Speaking of childhood heroes I couldn't not mention E.T. I love this guy sooo much and am forever saying "Beee gooood" as well as the infamous "E.T, phone home" it's amazing that although I've seen this movie hundreds of time I still get really emotional at the end, how can you not love E.T.?

Paul
Created as a homage to E.T. this dude is the complete opposite and I kinda love it! I would love so much to hang out with Paul he's be so much damn fun and it would also be pretty cool to gain knowledge of the universe through his mind melding powers.

Stitch
I love Stitch so much and Lilo & Stitch is high on my list of favourite Disney movies as it makes me smile so much through its sweet message of family and love, also Stitch reminds me so much of one of our old dogs it's ridiculous!

Thermians
Galaxy Quest is my favourite Star Trek movie and it's because of these guys. I think Aliens sometimes get a bad rep (and yes there are some bad aliens in this movie to) but here we see a race of aliens that are so sweet natured and pure that they have absolutely no concept of lies and they're also highly intelligent I mean they took science fiction and made it science fact! What I love most about them though is their childlike excitement and positivity, I would happily welcome these guys to our planet any day even in their octopus like form... NEVER GIVE UP, NEVER SURRENDER!
