Things That Make You Go Oooooo (August 2014)

The Early Stillness

My time in Thailand is almost over and I'll be back in Britain in a few days. I've had an amazing time here and had lots of fun with the family that I haven't had much time to catch up on blogs or blog very much but there's definitely some awesome post coming about my adventures. My birthday was a week ago although I don't feel much older but I definitely have some exciting plans for my final year of my twenties and I'm feeling inspired so here are a few links that I'm sure will help.

As soon as I knew there was a Mr Bean Cafe in Bangkok I had to visit! I used to watch Mr Bean all the time when I was a kid in Thailand so I had to take my family there for lunch. They serve all day English Breakfast and it was really delicious and the coffee is damn good to, I will definitely be back there (with teddy) especially now I'm a "Royal Bean"

Game of Thrones at London Film & Comic Con

Isaac Hempstead-Wright (Bran Stark)

Wow, I never quite expected this photo to get the attention it did but Isaac's reaction when I gave him the Summer "Direscarf" I made him was adorable! I'll talk more about that encounter later as there were so many awesome people from Game of Thrones this year that even with Natalie Dormer and Pedro Pascal cancelling (sad face) I still didn't have time to go and see everyone and I would have loved to say hi to Lena, Finn and Gethin again...

Daniel Portman (Podrick Payne)

The adventures of Brienne and Pod is probably one of my favourite things, I love seeing these to together so when Daniel Portman was announced as a last minute guest I was super excited. The Game of Thrones cast are always so nice and he was no exception.

Kate Dickie (Lysa Arryn)

Kate Dickie AKA Lysa Arryn was there Sunday, I had been looking forward to this season so much knowing what would happen to her character (no spoilers!) and it was so worth it, so don't be fooled by the crazy I assure you she's quite lovely in real life.

Ellie Kendrick (Meera Reed)

Meera is such a badass in the show, I've still not read up to her storyline in the books yet but I was freaking out when I saw that last episode she totally kicked some Wight ass, I can't wait to see what happens to her and Bran in the next season, hopefully by then I will have finally read A Dance with Dragons.

Sibel Kekilli (Shae)

Shae haters can GTFO, I actually liked what they did with her in the show compared to the books even though some things were questionable. I love how much she cared for Sansa and how much Sibel Kekilli defends her character also she's absolutely as gorgeous in real life as she is on screen!

Isaac Hempstead-Wright (Bran Stark)

I totally flipped out when I found out that Isaac was going to be at Comic Con, he was such a last minute guest that I actually didn't have time to make a Summer scarf especially for him so I gave him the first one that I made for myself, but seriously it could not have gone to a better home!

Isaac Hempstead-Wright (Bran Stark)

Isaac was such a sweetie and seemed genuinely excited when I gave him the scarf, it made my day that another direscarf has gone to another Stark and that he was so happy to receive it and I'm so excited to see where Bran's storyline goes as I've not read that far into the books yet.

Kristian Nairn & Isaac Hempstead-Wright (Hodor & Bran)

Despite the chaos I had an awesome time at London Comic Con and I met some amazing people all of them are so nice, I really appreciate them coming to meet us fans and taking the time out to speak to us. Game of Thrones really does have the best cast ever every single person I've met from the show has been so sweet to me I can't wait till the next con and who I'll see next.

It was my nephew's birthday last month so I took him for a "teddy bear picnic" to Mr Jones' Orphanage. The setting was very cute with teddies decorating every table and the cakes were delicious, especially the orange cake which was so soft it just melted in your mouth so if you're in Bangkok and have a craving for some cake I totally recommend you check it out!

London Film & Comic Con 2014

LFCC 2014

London Comic Con this year was CRAZY! I've been going to this even for a while and this year by far was the most busy with some people waiting as long as 6 hours to get inside luckily we had V.I.P. passes this year so managed to get in quick although there was just so much to do and so many people to meet this year that I hardly had time to cram it all in.

Juliet Landau (Drusilla)

Preview night is normally empty but this year it was so hectic and I spent most of the night in line buying photoshoots but I did managed to meet the awesome Juliet Landau AKA Drusilla from Buffy the Vampire Slayer and get my box sets signed, Drusilla and Spike were my all time favourite villans on Buffy so it was so cool to meet her.

Captain Americate

Saturday I dressed up as Captain America (again!) as I didn't have time to make a new cosplay for the event I just mixed up my previous Captain America outfits from San Diego and Wales Comic Con and as usual I didn't have much time/forgot to get proper outfit shots but I did manage to get a quick photo on a coffee break outside the infamous Earls Court Tardis.

Jenna Coleman (Clara Oswin Oswald)

My favourite Doctor Who assistant Clara Oswald was there on Saturday so I booked a photoshoot with her but didn't have enough time to go to her talk and signing but I'm happy I got to meet he if only briefly and she said I looked fantastic which was pretty cool!

John Hurt

Speaking of Doctor Who the legend that is John Hurt was there so I got my Watership Down blu ray signed by him and my Dad got his Day of the Doctor DVD signed. Watership Down was my childhood and John Hurt voiced Hazel (Rah) so I had to get it signed, I felt like Watership Down taught me so much when I was younger and John Hurt said that it's a beautiful book and I totally agree.

Lego

One of my favourite cosplays of the day was this guy dressed as Emmet from The Lego Movie, it was such a fun outfit although I imagine a bit uncomfortable to walk around in but props to this guy because he looked amazing!!!

Gail Simone

Gail Simone was in the comic area so I got her to sign a few of my favourite comics, I also bought a Wonder Woman script from her as I absolutely loved her Wonder Woman run and I love to see how comics are brought from script to page. I also ordered a the Batgirl #32 DC Bombshells variant which I wanted her to sign but it didn't arrive in time and all the sellers I asked at the con didn't have it but nevermind at least I got to meet her.

Gail Simone Comics

Gail Simone's Birds of Prey was pretty much a gateway series for me and how I got into reading more female centric comics. It's probably the reason why there are so many awesome female led comics now and some great female comic creators in the industry, I almost exclusively read the female led comics now, sorry Batman I still love you though!

Spider Men

As I was leaving on Saturday I passed by a web of Spider-Men so I had to get a photo also note the little Spider-man and extra Spideys in the background, it's good to know we have a few backups should Peter Parker want a day off...

Carrie Fisher Signed Princess Leia Funko

Sunday was another crazy day meeting lots of Game of Thrones people, which I will save for a separate post, but my first stop was Carrie Fisher because CARRIE FISHER, I waited quite a while to meet her as she arrived late but it was totally worth it she was so sweet and she had her adorable dog Gary sitting next to her, I would have loved to have a photoshoot with the both of them as she wasn't doing photos at her table however I was running short of money by that point but this was more than enough, never in a million years would I have though I'd meet her!

Ghost Funko

These blind box Funko's have been taunting me, I told myself I would resist as they're kinda pricey considering you have no idea what's inside and I was convinced I would end up with 20 Joffrey figures when all I really wanted was Ghost but I caved and I'm glad I did as the first one I bought ended up being the one I REALLY wanted!

Comics Haul

I bought a lot of comics at the con (20 in total!), some to read and some to do crafty type things with as I don't have a local comic shop I always tend to stock up when I'm at cons. Despite the crowding and craziness I had such a fun time at London Comic Con the guest line-up was amazing this year and hopefully I'll get to go again next year.

The One Where I Met STAN LEE!

Me & Stan Lee

Stan Lee is a comic book legend so when I heard he was doing his last ever European signing at London Film and Comic Con I booked my tickets right away because this would probably be my one and only chance to ever meet him, I mean the guy is 92!

Stan Lee Signed Stuff

As my Dad grew up reading Marvel comics I brought him with me and booked us a couple of VIP passes to meet him which meant we would get priority queuing in photoshoots and signings as well as a "meet and greet" (which didn't really happen) and front row tickets to his talk.

Stan Lee

I have to admit this was the first time I felt quite nervous to meet someone but he was so friendly and appreciative to his fans smiling and thanking them for coming, he must have been so exhausted by the end of the weekend with the amount of autographs he signed and photos he took with people but he didn't look it all. The guy has more energy than I did because I ended up skipping out on the Comic Awards on Starurday night but Stan Lee made it to the very end where as I was passed out in bed!

Stan Lee Signed Stuff

A meet and greet was included but we were all told that Stan Lee was far to tired to come out and meet us as he'd done over 1600 autographs and 2000 pictures that day which we completely understood so we ended up being ushered over to the stage and had an intimate question and answer session with him where he told us about his many cameos and future projects as well as the ones he enjoyed most.

Stan Lee

Stan Lee is such a warm friendly and funny guy who reminded me a lot of my Grandad and he is such an inspiration in positivity. I'm so happy to have got to meet him if only very briefly and get all my favourite Marvel items signed this was a once in a lifetime opportunity and despite all the problems of the weekend it was a magical time and I can't wait to see what Stan Lee's next cameo will be because I hear it's a good one!

#OOTD: Dragon Skulls & Batmobiles

Westeros Dragon Skull

Upon entering London Film & Comic Con you were greeted by a gigantic dragon skull and as I was wearing my favourite Westeros map dress from Blackmilk I thought it would be the perfect backdrop for an outfit of the day mini shoot.

Westeros Dragon Skull

I adore this dress and when Blackmilk announced they were going to do a Game of Thrones collection this was the one design I was hoping they would make. I always get so many compliments when I wear this dress, it's so flattering and I love the fact that Winterfell is placed on my heart.

Nanananana Batman!!

Bonus shot of the Batman '66 Batmobile because I couldn't resist, anyone who doesn't love the 60's Batman TV show can GTFO it's cheesy and camp and awesome and I love it!
