Beauty is also submitted to the taste of time, so a beautiful woman from the Belle Epoch is not exactly the perfect beauty of today, so beauty is something that changes with time. - Karl Lagerfeld

Beauty Blitz: Keeping That Youthful Glow

I been pondering the issue of when to start an anti-aging skincare routine for a while now, I was told at 16 to start using wrinkle cream at 20 and then told again that I shouldn't use any sort of anti-aging cream until at least 40 or it will cause damage to my skin. I've always said that prevention is better than cure when it comes to skincare and a lifetime of Botox injections is not my idea of fun, so is it too early for me to incorporate some anti-aging skin care products into my routine? Either way I have my own tricks and tips for sustaining a youthful look.

Take Vitamins - No matter how old you are I think it's important to make sure you're getting enough vitamins in your diet whether this is through taking supplements or applying them directly to the skin. Did you know Vitamin C boosts collagen production which in turn improves your skin texture and reduces wrinkles? I normally start my day with an ice cold glass of my special lactasoy milk which has added vitamins and collagen supplements but if your shop doesn't stock any a fresh fruit smoothie will have the same effect and it's a great healthy way to start the day and ensure you're getting the vitamins you need.

Use Sunscreen - The main cause of skin damage is overexposure to the sun so it's very important you wear sunscreen EVEN when it's cloudy. The higher the SPF the better and if you love the tanned look then go fake, it's a much better alternative than lying out in the sun all day cooking yourself and growing wrinkles!

Get Fresh - The benefits of eating fresh fruit and vegetables are endless so make sure you're getting at least 5 portions into your diet each day. If you want to keep that glowing fresh youthful look stop snacking on candy bars and grab yourself a nice piece of fruit instead.

Drink Green Tea - If you're bored with drinking water all day a great alternative is green tea, I practically live on the stuff! It's rich in antioxidants which protect the skin from free radicals and it's also been reported to help fight against cancer, tooth decay, lower cholesterol and help aid weight loss!

Caffeine - I'm not talking about drinking a pot of coffee a day as this can actually work against you in the skin care department but caffine in beauty products. Caffeine has been said to be effective against cellulite, fine lines and stretch marks by closing blood vessels and temporarily reducing the appearance of saggy puffy skin. Try using a spoonful of coffee grains in your facial wash for exfoliated, soft fresh looking skin.

Sex - Yes girls, sex is one of the many fantastic ways you can fight that anti-aging battle, it's been said that the hormones released during and after sex can help fight off aging and stress hormones. Sex can also help you beat those bad food cravings as sexual stimulation can produce phenethylamine which is a natural amphetamine which controls your appetite. So girls you've got no excuse and I couldn't think of a better reason to get busy in the bedroom!

Daily Outfit: 5th June 2010 (The Frequent Flyer)

Ok I admit I'm cheating a bit here as I took these photos before I left for China but this is my travel outfit and today I'm travelling to Thailand to go see my family (and my beloved James) and will be wearing this outfit again. Comfort is the key for travel and this outfit is super comfy, take note people you don't have to wear your PJ's to be comfortable you can be comfortable and travel in style!

I wear minimal make-up when I travel as I find my skin overcompensates and gets greasy when flying so I just have on my BB cream, a bit of powder foundation, some mascara and lip balm.

Milkmaid braids are a great hairstyle for travelling it's quick, easy and fuss free and you don't have to worry about your hair getting messed up on the journey.
